#9 Do You Hear

I don’t have much to say about the items I’ve got my fantabulous pixels wearing. But I’m gonna continue on with the Holiday music. Tonight I bring you Future of Forestry. So, I was actually looking for this song on Spotify, and I happened to catch their name. Could it possibly be these guys? And it was. Let me tell you, I know the lead singer from 8 or so years ago, and hearing him sing this song brought back a Flood of memories. (ahaha pun not intended, but still funny. I knew them when they were Something Like Silas, where they sang at a service called Flood). Anyways. I’ve been in something of an odd mood the past few days. And listening to Future of Forestry’s Christmas albums has been somewhat reconciling. See. 7 years ago something happened that was damaging to me personally and the members of Silas. Listening to Eric sing brought back some crazy memories, good ones. He’s got a great singing voice (if you’re into this ambient/rock style), and I remember very vividly the emotions he could stir in a crowd. Anyways. This life changing and damaging event. He redefined himself with the new band name (all original band members having since left). Not only that, but he overcame the hardship and found himself a wonderful life in this moment now. I thought back for a moment, and realized I’m in a much better place than I was 7 years ago. And despite my funk, I can still appreciate that I have a fulfilling job (despite it being frustrating as hell), I’ve got a beautiful and wonderful and large family, and I’m going to marry the love of my life (who I met in SL). The things that damaged our souls are finally behind me. I’m not sure when I let go of the resentment or the anger. But I think hearing this dude’s voice, a blast from my past, made me realized that I did. And hell. that’s something to celebrate.

So yeah. Here. I was looking for “Do You Hear What I Hear” and found an old friend. If you don’t wanta listen to Xmas music. Check out the second video, which is of the guys doing a drum break live. I laughed the whole time watching, cause 3 of the guys I do know … and well … it’s funny to watch.

#5 Island in the Sun

The days of summer are winding down, and I wish they’d stay just a while longer. On the plus side, I’m getting lots of rest and having fun in RL while catching up on PSing, posemaking, and (of course) shopping in SL.

A friend pointed me into the direction of Fashionably Late. Another collection of some of SL’s finest designers. Not 20 minutes later I received a notecard advertising this dress. I had to have it. The colors are vivid and fun. You don’t need much to add to your wardrobe, perhaps a simple necklace and some hot shoes.
